Instructor Bio:

Ian Eisenberg’s interest in pottery began at a very young age. His serious journey started with the formation of a high school pottery club where he focused on learning both the techniques and history of ceramics. Ian studied ceramics in college and produced work that was mostly functional.
He later worked at a historic plantation in Charleston, South Carolina producing traditional functional wares with locally gathered and processed clays and honing his skills as a production potter. Ian’s work then moved into more sculptural forms building larger pieces thrown either in one piece or multiple thrown elements.
He is currently working on combining his pottery with his second love, animation art using large sculptural forms as a canvas for underglaze transfers and trailed slip and underglaze drawings.
