The Good Vibes Continue
AVL clay had its Grand Opening this past Sunday and I could really feel the momentum building for our little pottery studio. Studio visitors expressed an appreciation for everything from the big open space, the equipment and especially the light. We just had our storm damaged windows fixed in the nick of time for the event. I spent the day chatting with so many friendly people. Many of these folks were good friends with some of AVL clay current members. That is how a community is built…one friend at a time, one conversation at a time and one positive interaction at a time. Speaking of friends….we had Julia and Kat (two of our great teachers) demoing some fun handbuilding and surface designs. Julia’s screen printing on clay attracted A LOT of attention which is great because we’ll be offering a workshop on that in January. At the wheel was our friend Ian throwing BIG beautiful forms. We’ll get him teaching here soon. Thank you to my friends Julia, Kat and Ian and especially my hubby Jon who managed to get the event listed on many local event pages AND got me interviewed on WLOS.
